Review for Multi-Sensory Memory Box by Tag Toys

Multi-Sensory Memory Box is a multi-dimensional learning toy that focuses on stimulating senses in young children. Using the idea that children learn best when they can see, touch and hear, Tag Toys has created an educational toy that uses visual, tactile and verbal communication to engage children in learning.

The main objective of play in Multi-Sensory Memory Box is to enhance cognitive and memory skills in children by seeing, touching and holding object and verbalizing the names.

Review for Multi Sensory Memory Box

How does it look like?

The product is measured 13 inches wide by 9 inches thick by 16 inches high. It is mainly made of sturdy plywood. The whole piece looks like to be very sturdy and made of high-quality materials. The recommended age by the manufacture is between 3 to 6 years.

How do I use Multi-Sensory Memory Box?

The memory box consists of two compartments covered with two pieces of chalkboard. The chalkboard over the top compartment can slide up and down while the chalkboard over the bottom compartment is fixed. Both compartments are accessible from the back side of the memory box. There are twenty memory tiles with different shapes included in the package.

You can use the Multi-Sensory Memory Box in two ways:

(1) See and Guess Play: Use the top compartment. Arrange between one to four tiles and place them on the shelf of the compartment while the cover is down. Slide up the cover. Give the child enough time to see and memorize the shapes placed in the compartment. Now close the cover over the compartment. The child has to recall the shapes by drawing them on the chalkboard while verbalizing the names.

(2) Touch and Guess Play: Use the bottom compartment. Place a memory tile in the bottom compartment. Ask the child to use the side accessible hole to touch the object in the compartment without seeing it. Now the child has to guess what shape is placed in the compartment by drawing it on the chalkboard and verbalizing its name.

How does it benefit children?

  • Memory Box uses multi-sensory activities to help children build and improve memory skills.
  • Memory Box encourages children to pay attention to detailed information and characteristics of objects such as shapes, curves, and colors.
  • Memory Box encourages parent and teacher participation in play.
  • Play is not limited to using the included memory tiles. You can use a variety of objects to play. Use fruits, small toys, school supplies or any small item with a distinct shape, texture and color.
